Nice try

Today we camped out at my parents' house while the tile guys tore up our hardwood floors. On a side note, I hate tearing up hardwood floors. Anyway, as we were getting ready to leave, Luke asked if he could borrow some toys from Poppy and Nana to take home.

Luke: Mommy, I'm going to take this dinosaur home.
Me: No, Luke. We have plenty of dinosaurs of our own. Leave that one here.
Luke: Nana said I could take it.
Me: No, Luke. I don't care what Nana said. I said "No".
Luke: Well, Nana is older than you so you have to obey her.
Me: Nice try. No.

We did not come home with the dinosaur.

Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier

Today each 1st grader at Luke's school gave a speech on a Great American. Luke chose Davy Crockett. He did a great job--even though I was late getting there and missed him when he gave the speech the first time. He gave an encore performance just for me--which is probably why he is so quick to be done.
